LONDON - An artist has captured the faces of Barack Obama, Marylin Monroe and Kate Moss, on her typewriter.

Keira Rathbone uses the machines, some of which are up to 70 years old, to draw portraits with astonishing accuracy.

27 year-old Rathbone from Chiswick, London, has built up her knowledge over seven years. She uses a variety of numbers, letters and punctuation to build up intricate recreations of faces and objects.

Her other collections include politician David Milliband, playwright Bonnie Greer and former Miss World Bollywood actress Aishwarya Rai.

“I love using a typewriter to draw. It’s an enjoyable process and I just feel it’s really a unique way of creating imagery,” The Telegraph quoted her as saying.

“I often go out around London and just sit there with a typewriter drawing what I can see or doing portraits of people. I notice people who wander past and think ‘what is she doing’. Some walk past a few times and you can see the moment when they realise I’m using to to draw. The reaction is usually the same. Most people just say it’s ‘amazing’,” she said.

Rathbone’s work is currently on display at The Montcalm hotel in London. (ANI)
