Srinivasa Rao Gets Rights For Robo At Rs 27 Crore

August 10, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): The Telugu rights of the much talked Tamil movie Endhiran has been sold at a record amount of Rs 27 crore. The Telugu version titled Robo has been bought by the renowned producer Chadalavada Srinivasa Rao.

Rao will be releasing the mega budget Robo in Andhra Pradesh under the banner of his Hyderabd based Tirumala Tirupati Venkateswara Films. It is said to have created a history in the Indian film industry by buying the dubbing rights of a movie at such a record price.

Srinivasa Rao, who bagged the rights, says, “I have a strong faith in Shankar and his capability of creating magic with the celluloid. Moreover, Robo is a product of Kalanithi Maran with prime film personalities like Rajini and Aishwarya starring the movie. So far, all the movies of Shankar have been blockbusters so I was prompted to buy the rights for the Telugu audience at such a huge price”.

The distributor of Robo insisted that the movie will release throughout Andhra Pradesh in about 600 theatres.

Rao added, “We are expecting to fetch the investment in the first week itself. However, we are cautious about the threat of piracy, which would increase after the first week”.

Well, we wish Robo really creates magic for Rao and he can earn good amount in return.
