Vanessa Williams In Desperate Housewives

July 27, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Hollywood actress and former Miss America Vanessa Williams has joined the seventh season of the American television comedy-drama series ‘Desperate Housewives’. The seventh season is slated to premiere on September 26, 2010.
Vanessa, who played Wilhemina Slater in ‘Ugly Betty’, is the new housewife in the show. She takes up the spot vacated by Kyle MacLachlan. The 47-year old actress-singer will be playing the role of Renee Filmore-Jones.
The news of entry of Williams has been confirmed by ABC network. It said, “Vanessa as the new housewife will shake up the neighborhood and will create mess in the lives of the women of Wisteria Lane”.
The upcoming seventh season will also see Brian Austin Green, the newly married husband of Megan Fox.
Vanessa will enter as an old college acquaintance and rival of Lynette. Although she will have a secret but her character is not going to have a link with this season’s mystery.
