Leah Siegel Of ESPN Dies Of Breast Cancer

DALLAS (GaeaTimes.com)- ESPN lost another of its dear family member on Monday when Dallas-based ESPN producer Leah Siegel breathed her last. The 43-year-old Leah Siegel was suffering from breast cancer for the past two years. The news was made public by the family of the producer. Eric Loehr, husband of Leah Siegel confirmed the news of the death of the producer on her blog post. He mentioned that Leah Siegel passed away at around 4:30 a.m.

In the blog post of Leah Siegel, Eric Loehr thanked everyone who has supported the family and Leah Siegel in the last two years. “The support over the last couple of years has been amazing” Eric Loehr wrote. He wrote that during her lifetime, Leah Siegel had enriched the lives of many people and that had in turn helped her to enrich her own life. According to the blog post, the family of Leah Siegel is planning to go for two services. While a traditional service will be held on Friday, a more light-hearted service to remember and cherish the memory of Leah Siegel will be organized early in September.

A mother of three, Leah Siegel was diagnosed with breast cancer back in August 2008. She was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancers shortly after she gave birth to her third child, Oliver. On her professional life at ESPN, Leah Siegel was one of the first women to become a full-time producer for ESPN. She had won three Emmy Awards during her life time as a member of the production team of ESPN’s “SportsCenter” and “NFL Sunday Countdown” program.
