Lowell Folk Festival Details

New York (GaeaTimes.com) - The annual Lowell folk festival is a great chance for people to travel around the world, while staying at the historic district of downtown Lowell. The festival which last for the whole weekend, began in the year of 1900. This is the second largest folk festival in US, drawing hundreds of thousands of people from all around the world, largest being the Seattle Folk life festival. It last for three days, which includes traditional music, dance, craft demonstration, street parades, dance parties, and ethnic food. All these events are held at the city of Lowell, Massachusetts.
Every year the city of Lowell is filled with music. It witnesses a three day festival of music. It conducts six stages of events, which mostly includes music. But there are also events which feature about the great food. Ethnic groups come together to provide food during the whole festival, foods include Asian, Filipino specialties to Jamaican and soul food. Another specialty about the Lowell folk festival is its child friendly environment. There are lots of activities which promotes the good relation between the festival and the parents. Parents can bring their kids to festival to listen to good music or get indulged in family activity or craft demonstration area. The most interesting thing about Lowell folk festival is that it is totally free. So donations and willing volunteers are always welcomed. And as a token of appreciation, the deserving ones are awarded with scholarships.
This year the Lowell folk festival will be held between 23rd -25th of July. Due to weather problem, adjustment has been made to the original schedule. At 6:45pm flag rising will be held at the Lowell high school auditorium. And festival will continue up till 10pm on the first day. On second day, 24th July, festival will be held between noon to 10pm and on the final day ,25th July, it will be held between noon to 7pm.
