Bridal Asia To Offer Mughal Feel This Season

July 17, 2010 (Sampurn Wire): Seema and Jamila Malhotra, the designer duo is going to give a Mughal feel in the ‘Bridal Asia 2010’ as the mother-daughter are going to showcase their collection ‘Husn’ at the event in New Delhi. They claim the collection to be a tribute to the eternal beauty of the Indian women.

The ‘Husn’ collection is inspired by the Mughal styles. Seema and Jamila have taken Indian fasion to the international cinema as they designed costumes for the actress Cate Blanchet in the 1998 Hollywood movie Elizabeth. The designer duo designed the striking peacock gown worn by Judy Dench in the movie Shakespeare in Love. They also designed constumes for Marc Forster’s film Finding Neverland.

They will bring contemporary designs with Mughal feel, which is a perfect blend of past and the present. In a recent interview, Seema said, “The beauty of Indian women that remained unaffected even after globalization, will reflect in this collection”.

She added that the collection is inspired by the mystical magic of Indian women, which is created by draping them in lehenga, saree or other forms of Anarkali. The designer further said, “I have received heartwarming response here in Delhi in my first visit”.

Divya Gurwara, the CEO of Bridal Asia said, “The wedding event is celebrating 12th edition this year. We expect it to be much magnificent this year. We expect to make the event better every year and we are estimating to get a 25 percent increase in sales this year”.

Bridal Asia 2010 will start on September 11 with 100 designers from Sri Lanka, Pakistan, and Bangladesh. Renowned fashion designers like Rina Dhaka, Sabyasachi, Shane Peacock, Pallavi Jaikishan, Jaya Rathore and Falguni are likely to showcase their latest collection at the event.
