Opera Star Taddei Dies

Italian opera star GIUSEPPE TADDEI has died, aged 93.

Taddei, a celebrated baritone who made his operatic debut in 1936 in Rome, died at his home in Rome, Italy on Wednesday (02Jun10).

He performed on the world’s great opera stages, including the Vienna State Opera and La Scala, and made his debut at New York’s famed Metropolitan Opera in 1985 - at the astonishing age of 69. Taddei continued performing well into his 70s.

Taddei’s official cause of death was not available as WENN went to press.
