LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- “The Ten Commandments” movie that happens to be one of the most sought after Hollywood production of all times was aired on ABC on the eve of the holy Easter on Saturday night.

“The Ten Commandments” movie was released way back in 1956 and had leading actors of Hollywood like Charlton Heston and Yul Brynner in the main roles. “The Ten Commandments” movie is one of the glaring example of the finest of Hollywood’s visual effects. In spite of the fact that the visual effects in those days weren’t much improved as compared to the modern cinematic visions like “Avatar” and “Star Trek”, the movie still managed to pick up the Academy Award in 1957 in the best visual effects category.“The Ten Commandments” movie was a big project for Yul Burner who had to shave off his head to fit in the typecast of Pharaoh Ramses II which is considered to be his finest till date. Following the phenomenal success of the movie, the actor decided to carry on his head shave look forever in his movies. Although the movie depicted a plot which was slightly different from the Bible story of Moses and Hebrew slaves, its powerful portrayal of characters along with the alluring visual effects made it a timeless masterpiece.

Regarded to be a classic in its own genre, “The Ten Commandments” movie happens to be the last movie directed by Cecil B. De Mille which turned out to be major gross earner at the American box office. Despite the fact that the movie was released way back in the 1950’s, large number of viewers still tuned in to watch the movie which was aired last night on ABC.
