LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The top twelve American Idol season 9 contestants paid their musical tribute to one of the most famous bands of all time, Rolling Stones. The band which created heart touching music and changed the scenario of music, was the theme of Tuesday’s American Idol season 9 performances. The Contestant tried to impress the audience and the judges by humming some of the Rolling Stones songs.

While some participants’ performances were appreciated by the judges, others were criticized for their poor take on the songs of Rolling Stones. Tim Urban, who made it to the final 12, was criticized by the judges again for his innovative take on the Rolling Stone’s “Under My Thumb”. The 20 year old participant’s take on the famous song was labeled as a “crazy decision” by Simon Cowell. Judge Randy Jackson called Tim Urban’s singing as “weird”.

However, there were many other singers who came out with some brilliant performance of the Rolling Stones songs. The judges appreciated the attempts made by contestants like Didi Benami, who sang “Play With Fire”as well as Katie Stevens’ “Wild Horses”. Aaron Keely performed “Angie” and was praised for her singing by the judges. The judges however, seemed to be impressed with the singing of Paige Miles, who sang “Honky Tonk Woman” after recovering from her recent illness.

The best performance of the show came from Siobhan Magnus’, who gave a beautiful rendition of Rolling Stones‘ “Paint It Black”. Simon Cowell praised the singer by saying that it was the “standout performance of the night”. Randy Jackson found the girl’s take on the song as hot. Kara DioGuardi and Ellen DeGeneres too were all praises for Siobhan Magnus’.
