British pop act SQUEEZE have been honoured with a plaque at the site of their first gig.

The beloved group, featuring songwriters Chris Difford and Glenn Tilbrook, made its debut at Greenwich Dance Hall in London in 1975, and now the venue has been named a site of historical interest.

Difford and Tilbrook will unveil the plaque on 23 March (10).

A thrilled Tilbrook says, “It’s a pleasure to return to the place where we performed as Squeeze way back in 1975; I still buy my cheese just up the road.”

Squeeze reformed in 2007 and are preparing for a landmark show at this summer’s (10) Isle of Wight Festival.
