LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- One of best rock movies of all time “The T.A.M.I. Show: Collector’s Edition” is slotted for a March release this year. The legendary movie includes all live performances from master performers like Rolling Stones, James Brown, Chuck Berry & Beach Boys along with the Supremes. In director Steve Binders words, ‘T.A.M.I. Show’ is one of the very best things to have happened to the world of rock movies. The credit title included “Elvis: ‘68 Comeback Special.” T.A.M.I. Show, which stood for the Teenage Awards Music International, was envisioned to be one international nonprofit organization hosting musical concerts. Quite regrettably, the idea never gained grounds with reality but the movie did. “The T.A.M.I. Show” was released on December 1964.
“The T.A.M.I. Show” is like none other and still retains the retro mood after such a long gap of 46 years. It s not that difficult to summarize why Quentin Tarantino, one of the greatest patrons and admirer of the T.A.M.I. Show, voted in favor of the movie to be counted among the very best creations out of all rock movies that ever made it to the screen. With the DVD release finally happening, it would now be made accessible to a whole lot of music and movie lovers.
Director Steve Binder actually took the shots of all the jostling crowds with hand-held cameras, in an attempt to capture the actual fervor which was alive in the show itself. The T.A.M.I. Show director included all shots under the opening credit title itself and also finally edited the whole episode on the spot, to make it appropriate for 350 mm.
