Knight’s Financial Worries Pile Up
By WENNSunday, March 7, 2010
Beleaguered rap mogul MARION ‘SUGE’ KNIGHT’s money woes continue to mount - U.S. government officials have demanded he pay more than $6 million (£4 million) in unpaid taxes from 1996.
The former Death Row Records’ boss had a tax lien filed against him in 2003, stating he had not paid the $6,578,696 (£4,385,797) bill he owed for earnings made seven years earlier (96).
He failed to hand over the staggering amount, forcing the government to re-file the claim in January this year (10), according to TMZ.com.
It’s not the first of Knight’s money troubles - he put his Las Vegas property up for sale in August after filing for bankruptcy in 2008. In February (10), a collection of his valuables in storage was auctioned off to cover his unpaid storage bills.
