Colin Firth in ‘perpetual daze’ over first Oscar nomination

LONDON - Colin Firth has confessed his first Oscar nomination for his performance in ‘A Single Man’ has been a little too much for him to handle.
The actor was nominated in the Best Actor category for his portrayal of a gay English Professor stricken with grief after the sudden death of his partner.
“This really is the first time - I’m completely unfamiliar with it. One is in a perpetual daze. On Oscar night - I will be in a daze. I think that’s quite a good place to be actually,” The Mirror quoted him as telling reporters at the Academy Awards Nominees Luncheon in Beverly Hills.
He continued: “Since people have started talking about this, you’re constantly on a plane, talking yourself into circles, so actually, you don’t process anything.
“I’m sure I’m ecstatic. I’ll probably have a flashback in six months time when I’ll be able to answer that question then.”
Firth added: “I have no wisdom on this. I’ve spoken to several people who’ve been nominated several times and they all say you never get used to it. It never feels like something that you know how to manage.” (ANI)
