THE KNACK frontman DOUG FIEGER has died. He was 57.

The My Sharona hitmaker passed away on Sunday (14Feb10) at his California home following a lengthy battle with cancer, with his bandmates announcing the sad news on the group’s official website.

The announcement added, “Our hearts are broken, we will miss you Doug.”

The Knack became popular on the Los Angeles club circuit in the late 1970s, recording its debut record Get The Knack for just $17,000 (£10,600) within a two-week period.

The album included the massive hit My Sharona, for which the band would be best known, which was voted the best number one of 1979 by Billboard.
