WASHINGTON - Mel Gibson has confessed he has little faith in US President Barack Obama’s capabilities to “fix” United States.

The controversial actor made the revelation at the Hollywood premiere of his latest drama thriller “Edge of Darkness” that is based on dark politics.

“[Obama] is a man with an impossible task on his hands. He got left a mess and I wish him all the best but I don’t think he’s going to fix it in five minutes and probably not in his entire tenure,” Fox News quoted him as telling Pop Tarts.

The Passion of the Christ director went on to talk about the new film featuring him as a homicide detective, who gets caught in an investigation into the murder of his activist daughter.

He said: “It picks the scab off the governmental, corporate paranoia - the under the table workings that happen. I think we’ve lost our naivetĂ©, I don’t think we have any pretension that what most of our leaders are doing is leading us to the slaughterhouse.” (ANI)
