Notebook Movie Review

LOS ANGELES (GaeaTimes.com)- The lovers of romantic movies prefer watching the movie Notebook many times. The film which released in 2004 got a reasonably good review from the critics. It was adapted from a novel written by Nicholas Sparks. Its director was Nick Cassavetes. The performances of stars like Rachel McAdams and Ryan Gosling still mesmerize the film buffs. They play the roles of a young couple who fall for each other in the turbulent times of the 1940s. The movie uses a flashback method where the love story is narrated by an elderly person to a patient, who are incidentally the young lovers grown old.

There is nothing exceptional about the storyline of the movie Notebook. It still managed to get good reviews from the critics because of the way the director handled the much used subject. While there is a liberal dose of emotion used in the film, it still manages to retain the interest of the viewers till the end. Noah Calhoun charms the role of charming rustic boy and woos Allie Hamilton in the movie. The couple knows they hail from drastically different backgrounds but still they get attached to each other like magnets. However, the mother of the girl plays spoilsport and creates hindrance in their blossoming romance. When the girl returns after a few years she is thrown in a dilemma. She has to choose between her fiance selected by her parents and her lover: she sides with love. Years after being together and basking in the love for each other, Allie falls prey to Alzheimer and loses account of her life. It is then that her husband takes to narrating their story to her once more in order to help her remember.

The reviewers liked the movie Notebook for its adept handling of a sensitive subject like Alzheimer. The actors also managed to breathe life into the characters.
