British music acts COLDPLAY, ARCTIC MONKEYS and BLUR frontman DAMON ALBARN have all handed over merchandise for an online auction to raise funds for the Haiti earthquake appeal.

Items belonging to the rockers will go under the hammer on online auction site eBay.com on Friday (22Jan09), giving fans the chance to own a piece of rock history as well as making money to help the victims of last week’s (12Jan09) earthquake.

Coldplay frontman Chris Martin has donated a signed military jacket he wore throughout the band’s Viva La Vida tour, while Albarn will record a “bespoke” track for whoever wins his bid.

The guitar Alex Turner played in Arctic Monkeys’ promo for debut single I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor is also up for grabs.

All monies raised will go to the Oxfam emergency response in Haiti.

Martin says, “The people of Haiti will be desperate for help and assistance. You can make a donation at www.oxfam.org.uk.”
