Ohio Critics Pick Up In The Air As Best Film

Film critics in Ohio have picked UP IN THE AIR and INGLOURIOUS BASTERDS as their films of 2009.

Jason Reitman’s Oscar favourite Up in the Air was named Best Film at the eighth annual Central Ohio Film Critics Association awards and Reitman was named Best Director. He also picked up a Best Adapted Screenplay prize and George Clooney claimed another Best Actor honour.

Basterds also picked up four awards: Best Supporting Actor (Christoph Waltz), Best Ensemble, Best Original Screenplay and Best Cinematography.

Other films winning multiple awards include Up (Best Score and Best Animated Film) and An Education, which picked up Best Actress and Breakthrough Film Artist for its star Carey Mulligan.

Ohio’s Best Supporting Actress honour went to Precious: Based on the Novel Push by Sapphire star Mo’Nique.

Anvil! The Story of Anvil was named Best Documentary; Waltz with Bashir (Valz Im Bashir) claimed the Best Foreign Language Film prize and Goodbye Solo was considered the Best Overlooked Film.
