NEW YORK - Hannah Montana star Miley Cyrus has stated that she is not responsible for her young fans’ actions, as it is not her job to be their parent.
Cyrus, 17, who appears on the February cover of Harper’s Bazaar, said she is finally starting to realize just how much of an impact she has on others.
“My job is to be a role model, and that’s what I want to do, but my job isn’t to be a parent,” the New York Daily News quoted her as telling the magazine.
“My job isn’t to tell your kids how to act or how not to act, because I’m still figuring that out for myself,” she added. (ANI)

She is completely right. I mean, I always see people writing about how Miley is not being a proper role model for their five, six, seven, eight, and nine-year-olds. Why are they looking up to (and trying to be like) a sixteen or seventeen-year-old star when these parents get upset because these teen stars are acting like teens? Seriously, Miley’s at the age where she is going to do stupid things and make mistakes. It is your job to tell your kid how to act. Besides, she’s right - your precious little babies are going to grow up and do some stupid s–t. Did you do everything right when you were her age? I know I didn’t, so she won’t and neither will your kids. Kudos to Miley for telling it like it is. |
