Sukhbir, the Prince of Bhangra is back after six years of long gap. He is presently working on his new private album. After rocking the world with his hit song Ishq, Sukhbir’s new album will soon hit the market to rhythmically oblige people tapping their toes. Let’s check out what ishq he has to spread around this time!

Q. You are back after a long sojourn of six years. What were you doing all these days?
A. Well, I was working on a passion of mine i.e. my dad’s kirten album which took a long time for completion. My dad is a priest in the Sikh community, so I took some time off in doing that album which features Akshay Kumar in the video. Finally, after making my father’s dream a reality, I am back to my normal music life.

Q. How are you planning to bring out this album?
A. We are releasing it with T-series and the audio part is been completed. Now we are planning to shoot the video, after which the marketing part will take place. I am really very excited about it and am desperately waiting for the public response once it gets released. I am very happy and glad to be associated with such a company.

Q. What are we going to hear in this album?
A. I think it’s going to be a possession of my own style. I have worked with many people, so I think the melodies are similar, but the theme is going to be different.

Q. What kind of music you like?
A. My range of likings goes from ghazals to quwallis to English pop, jazz, rock and all types of music. I appreciate all kinds of music; especially spiritual music.

Q. Who is your inspiration in singing?
A. I think there are host of many people including Michael Jackson, Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and many others. So, these are the kinds of songs that I really associate with as well as local African artist and also there are people like Bob Marley.

Q. Do you write your own lyrics?
A. I tried but my dad, who is a prolific writer himself, said that I don’t write up to mark. But I write, arrange, mix and compose my own music.

Q. If offered a role in a film, will you act in it?
A. Yes, I am looking forward to it. In fact we are in talks and maybe we might get into some sort of film production as well. I have never acted in my life and if I feel that I am up to that mark then why not. I would definitely do it.

Q. Besides singing, what other talents do you have?
A. My passion is flying. I am learning how to fly a plane and become a pilot.

Q. What is your mantra of success?
A. I think it’s hard work, because hard work really pays off. Be focused, don’t copy anybody, just follow your own style and stick to it. I think that can be defined as your own style. Let other people copy you, but you don’t copy anybody.

The TRP thing is getting over a hit serial like Zee TV’s Saat Phere also. Called to be face of Zee TV, the show is bringing in fresh characters to rule the TRP charts like it as always done in the past. Saat Phere is about to get into a leap, but before that gorgeous Shalini Kapoor would be entering the show to dramatize it. “I am playing the character of a caretaker called Madhu who would be entering the Nahar house,” confirms Shalini. But when we tried to get more close to the character, the lady would be playing, she tried to play the well known diplomatic card, “It’s a very pivotal character in the show which would leave a big impact and this is all I can say for the moment.”

‘Girls Aloud’ murder writer prosecuted

A 35-year-old man is being prosecuted over an online blog in which he allegedly depicted the rape, murder and mutilation of pop band ‘Girls Aloud’.

Darryn Walker, a civil servant from South Shields, is accused of writing and uploading a 12-page story entitled ‘Girls (Scream) Aloud’ to a fantasy porn website.

He was arrested by Scotland Yard officers after the Internet Watch Foundation - a regulator which monitors potentially obscene material online – alerted the police.

The Scotland Yard says that the vast majority of prosecutions brought under the Obscene Publications Act have been related to images- photographs, computer-generated images or videos. But it’s very unusual to be prosecuted for a case involving the written word. - SAMPURN

Nayanthara is known for her belief in the almighty. Whenever the actress gets a free time, she prefers to take blessings from God. The same happened on Wednesday. Nayanthara got a break from the shooting of her Malayalam flick Body Guard in Kerala and she instantly headed to Bhagavathy temple. But the actress crossed the rules of dress code. Normally, the ladies wear sarees whenever they enter the temple, but Nayanthara entered the temple wearing a Salwar Kameez. Instantly, the authorities of the temple came to her stopped her from moving inside the temple. Raju-Maharaju busy in post-production

Directed by P Bhanushankar and produced by Kumaraswamy Pathikonda on the banner of Sri Kumaraswamy Productions, ‘Raju-Maharaju’ with Dr Mohanbabu and Ramyakrishna in the lead roles, Sarwanand, Surwin Chawla and Tasu Kaushik as the hero and heroines, is presently busy in post-production works. Producer says, ‘We have recently completed the dubbing activity and are planning to start re-recording in the next couple of days. We are planning to launch the audio through a popular music company in the first week of May and are making efforts to release the film by the end of May. We got a very good story and are making it in a rich way without compromising on the quality. We have spent more that Rs 10 crore on the film. We are quite confident about the success of the movie.’ Director says, ‘The story will have love and family sentiment in its backdrop. Mohanbabu’s performance would remain a highlight. Pasupathi in Mollywood

Famous Tamil actor Pasupathi would now be seen for the first time in Malayalam cinema in the flick Vairam, which is been directed by M.A. Nishad. The director himself has also jotted down the film. Apart from Pasupathi, Vairam has four prominent Malayalam heroes and three heroines playing the lead roles, Suresh Gopi, Mukesh, Jaya Suriya, Kalabhavan Mani, Bhama, Samvritha Sunil and Meera Vasudev. The other cast includes Thilakan, Jagathy, Sai Kumar, K.P.A.C. Lalitha and Rekha. The film is being produced by N. Siva Rao under the banner of NASR India. Screenplay and dialogues are been penned down by Cherian Kalpakavady. Sanjeev Sankar would be capturing the film in his camera. M. Vikas Kalantri and Pooja Ghai of ‘White Leaf Entertainment’ hosted a press conference on Monday afternoon at The Club in andheri to announce the forthcoming Gold Awards 2008 that is to be held in Dubai this December.

The conference announced the panel of jury members associated with the awards. Vinay hit by a sand storm in Dubai

An unfortunate accident took place with Vinay while shooting for Saran’s flick Modhi Vilayadu in Dubai. A sequence was been filmed in the sand dunes where Vinay had to drive a car. Suddenly a sand storm hit the car and Vinay along with the car was submerged under the sand. The whole crew rushed to save Vinay and after a lot of efforts succeeded in taking Vinay out of the sand. But until then Vinay had gone unconscious and so was instantly rushed to a nearby hospital. Doctors removed the sand which had entered his mouth and nose and after intensive care he was declared safe. Vinay is still in the hospital while the shooting of the film is been cancelled. Kajol Agrawal is playing the female lead in this flick.
