Florida - Enchanted April is a novel written by Elizabeth von Arnim in 1922. Later, a film was made based on this novel, by director Mike Newell in 1992. The three times Oscar nominated film won the Best Film award and Golden Globe award.
The story of the movie is all about four women who went to Italy for a short holiday vacation. There they rediscover themselves and find out the utter significance of what is called ‘relationship’.
Lottie and Rose, two married women from London were unhappy with their conjugal life. They decided to rent an Italian Castle and spent there for a change. They were accompanied by Mrs. Fisher and Lady Caroline Dester. Mrs. Fisher, an elderly widow joined them to get out of her loneliness. Lady Caroline Dester was a flapper, sick of men.
When they arrived in San Salvatore’ a seaside Italian castle, drenched in sunshine, they were transformed into another world. They were enchanted with the beautiful scenery and explored a new meaning of life, with new goals and new desire.
I am sure, watching the movie you also feel like go there and take a deep breath in the midst of affluent beauty of nature.
