Susan Boyle’s debut album becomes bestseller, breaks record

LONDON - Scottish singing sensation Susan Boyle is celebrating after her album “I Dreamed A Dream” was named the best-selling debut in British history.

It was announced Sunday that the 48-year-old, who took the world by storm after appearing on reality show “Britain’s Got Talent”, is number one in Britain after selling more than 410,000 copies of “I Dreamed A Dream”, which has cemented a place in the record books as the fastest selling debut ever.

Contactmusic.com reports that Boyle has smashed previous debut records held by Leona Lewis’ “Spirit” album and Arctic Monkeys’ “Whatever People Say I Am, Thats What Im Not”.

“I Dreamed A Dream” is also number one in Australia and Ireland.
