Streep’s Cold Gave Foxy Character A Voice

MERYL STREEP has a lingering cold to thank for her performance in animated movie FANTASTIC MR. FOX - because the illness gave her voice a “foxy” feel.

The Oscar winner plays Mrs. Fox in the new film and she admits it was easy to find her rasp for the role, opposite George Clooney.

Many critics insist she doesn’t sound like herself - and now Streep explains why.

She says, “I had a really bad cold when I did the voice for it. My voice is normally a little high and squeaky, but it was really great in this.

“I can’t take credit for it; it was H1N1 (swine flu) or something.”
