Scottish singing sensation SUSAN BOYLE’s post-breakdown stint in rehab earlier this year (09) was “a necessity”, according to the talent show star.

Boyle checked herself into the Priory Hospital in London a day after she finished second on Britain’s Got Talent in May (09) - because she was exhausted after suffering from insomnia.

The 48 year old spent three days in the rehab facility - and she is delighted she made the decision to seek professional help.

She tells Britain’s OK! magazine, “I don’t really remember much about it. After the final I went there with extreme exhaustion. I hadn’t slept properly for about a week and I didn’t know what was wrong with me.

“I was in there for three days and I’ve never felt so tired, but I look back on it now and it was a necessity. I wanted to get a rest and a break, without all the cameras.”
