Cindy Crawford blackmailed over daughter’s snap

LONDON - Former American model Cindy Crawford and husband Rande Gerber have become victims of an extortion plot involving a photo of their daughter bound and gagged.

The couple’s former nanny is alleged to have taken a photo of their daughter Kaia tied to a chair last year and passed it on to the suspect Edis Kayalar, reports mirror.co.uk.

Court documents claim Kayalar attempted to extort $100,000 from the couple and repeatedly threatened to sell or release the photograph to the media if they failed to pay.

“Rande Gerber and Cindy Crawford intend to pursue any and all available legal action against anyone who aids the perpetrator in the distribution or sale of the photograph of their daughter,” Crawford’s spokesperson Annett Wolf said in a statement.

According to the documents, Kaia, who is now eight years old, told her parents the photo was taken during a “cops and robbers” game with the nanny.

Kayalar has now been deported to his native Germany and if convicted of extortion, he could face up to two years in prison.
