Moby’s Political Victory

Dance star MOBY has scored a political victory, after convincing California Governor ARNOLD SCHWARZENEGGER to reinstate funding to domestic violence programmes in the state.
The star pledged his support to the cause earlier this month (Oct09), after scheduling three concerts in California and promising tour profits to a charity that has struggled since Schwarzenegger pulled the plug on funding in July (09).
Just two weeks on, Moby’s support has helped convince the Governor to change his stance on domestic violence.
The jubilant Porcelain hitmaker writes online, “Two weeks ago I started working with the California partnership to end domestic violence to get California, to re-instate funding to domestic violence programs in California. And it worked!
“Yesterday the state legislature voted in emergency session to reinstate all funding to domestic violence programs! And Arnie said he’d sign the bill! Very, very happy news, as now many shelters can stay open and continue to provide service to the victims of domestic violence.”
