How a jammed door ruined Robbie Williams’ X Factor comeback

LONDON - While fans say that Brit singer Robbie Williams looked high as he performed on his X Factor comeback, the singer has revealed how a jammed door got him all jittery before the show.
Fans said that Williams, 35, looked trashed, with his eyes bulging, and pupils dilated when he appeared in front of nearly 15 million viewers for his first live performance in the UK in three years.
Some, who had expected the singer’s best performance, were disappointed with the below-par singing and erratic movements, which one said was like “watching your dad dance at a wedding”.
But Williams, who admitted he didn’t get off to the best start as he sang his new single ‘Bodies’, has put the blame on a jammed stage door for putting him off stride.
The singer revealed that the striking pose he had prepared for the moment he burst on to the set was thrown into disarray when he was not able to open the door.
“At this point in the rehearsals the music starts… The doors open… BUT LIVE… The music starts… The doors don’t open,” the Mirror quoted him as saying.
“So we’re a few seconds in and the doors remain closed… a few more seconds and they’re still closed.
“Now I don’t know if you’ve ever had 10 million people plus ready to judge you on your first performance back in three years…
“But let me tell you, if the door between you and them isn’t opening that’s enough to throw you right off your stride.
“I had to wedge it open myself. That wasn’t part of the show.
“That was brute strength and now heavy nerves, shifting something I probably wouldn’t be able to move in the cold light of day. So there’s a bad start. I had a whole pose planned and what not.
“But that went out of the window,” he added.
When Williams finally got on set, he appeared jittery and was sweating profusely as he started to sing. (ANI)
