LONDON - The Los Angeles police officer accused of leaking information in Mel Gibson’s drink-driving arrest in 2006 will not face charges.

Deputy Sheriff James Mee was suspected of leaking reports of the actor’s anti-Semitism comments to the arresting Jewish policeman.

Prosecutors deemed the leaks criminal but found no evidence against the officer, reports The BBC.

They also reviewed Mee’s financial records as part of the case and found no improper payments.

Mee’s lawyer alleged his client was ostracised and reassigned after taking the star into custody. (ANI)
