Jones Pleads Guilty To Assault

Rapper JIM JONES has pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour assault charge stemming from his brawl with members of R&B hitmaker NE-YO’s entourage.
The Diplomats frontman entered the plea in Manhattan Criminal Court, New York on Monday (05Oct09) in connection with a fight that broke out in the Louis Vuitton store in the Big Apple on Christmas Eve last year (Dec08).
He entered a not guilty plea in February (09) in relation to the attack on Ne-Yo’s manager Jayvon Smith but admitted his guilt during the hearing on Monday.
The rapper was sentenced to time served, which he completed shortly after the arrest in January (09).
Jones pleaded guilty in order to avoid prolonged probation, which could have interfered with his ability to tour, according to his lawyer Scott Leemon.
