Quaids ‘unpaid Hotel Bill Was Misunderstanding’

RANDY and EVI QUAID have dismissed an unpaid $10,000 (£6,660) hotel bill as a mere misunderstanding - insisting they intended to pay it at a later date.

The couple was taken into custody in Marfa, Texas last week (24Sep09) after a California judge issued an arrest warrant, citing the outstanding bill they racked up at the luxury San Ysidro Ranch in Santa Barbara.

They were released after each posting $20,000 (£13,300) bail and are facing three felony charges of allegedly burglarising and defrauding the hotel owner.

Their lawyer claims they had intended to settle the bill after leaving the resort but it got lost in the post when they moved house, according to TMZ.com.

The bill has now reportedly been paid in full, but charges against the couple have not been dropped - they are due to appear in court on 19 October (09).
