World renowned chat show host Oprah Winfrey interviewed the late Michael Jackson in 1993 and has now revealed that she believes that he was very lonely.

In the interview the pop legend spoke about his childhood, plastic surgery and his love interests.

Reports say that the singer who died on June 25 this year had said on the chat show: "My purpose, I think, is to give in the best way I can."

Oprah talks about his confessions: "I was surprised he was willing to go that far. I see now how profoundly lonely he was. I heard and sensed it then but I didn’t feel how lonely he was."

She also revealed how while talking about his childhood there was a deep sense of ‘fear and sadness’ in his voice. On asked how he would like to be perceived, he had said: "I just simply want to be loved wherever I go."

In the entertainment world, it might be very lonely when you are at the top. It was no different for another king of music.
