World’s Oldest Woman Dies

The world’s oldest woman has died in Los Angeles.
Gertrude Barnes was 115 when she passed at a Los Angeles hospital on Friday morning (11Sep09).
The former maid lived through two world wars, the rise and fall of communism and the entire 20th century. She outlived all her relatives.
Baines was born in Georgia in 1894, when Grover Cleveland was the U.S. President.
