The Show Must Go On For Juanes - And What A Show

Defiant Colombian pop star JUANES has confirmed his Paz Sin Fronteras (Peace Without Borders) concert in Havana, Cuba will go ahead as planned next week (20Sep09), despite threats he will be killed when he steps onstage.

And to further hammer home the fact he’s not afraid, he has turned the event into a massive international festival.

The free International Day of Peace concert will now also feature Spanish pop acts Miguel Bose, Victor Manuel and Luis Eduardo Aute, Puerto Rican tropical star Olga Tanon and Cuban artists Amaury Perez, X Alfonso and Los Van Van, among others.

Some Cuban exiles have attacked Juanes, who will headline the concert, claiming the event is a show of support for the Fidel Castro regime.

Militants have threatened the star’s life if he takes the stage at the Jose Marti Revolution Plaza concert, prompting Juanes to report email and Internet attacks to the police and step up security for the show.

The singer/songwriter insists the concert has nothing to do with politics, but everything to do with peace and he is asking all performers and concertgoers to wear white as a symbol of peace.
