LONDON - Author Allison Burnett has refused to cast Lindsay Lohan in the celluloid adaptation of her novel because she feels the actress’ troubled image will work against the movie.

The Mean Girls star had been lined up to play the lead in the adaptation of acclaimed novel “Undiscovered Gyrl”, about a teenager blogging about her sexual coming-of-age. But Burnett has now revealed she’s passed up Lindsay because of her troubled image, reported mirror.co.uk.

“She (Lohan) is a wonderful actress, but her fame and baggage would only work against her, said Burnett.

Lindsay has been struggling to land a big box office role since Herbie: Fully Loaded in 2005. Recently she has been hogging the limelight because of her on-off relationship with DJ Samantha Ronson.
