Artful bodies
Body art enthusiasts from around the world recently descended on Auckland to join in the festivities at the 2009 New Zealand Body Art Awards. The extravaganza showcases creative talent from around the world incorporating young people, graduates and professionals who all work within the diverse art form. This year’s theme was ‘Fantasia Asia’ and saw music and dance teamed with spectacular coloured creations. Entrants competed in categories including Hand Painted, Special Effects and World of Fluorescent . The overall winner was a creation by Kelly Zhong-ni Ren entitled ‘Painted Skin’. (LR/WN/MJ)
