The Kannada film board is now open to non Kannada words to be registered and certified as the title of their films. Film director Prashanth, maker of Love Guru remembers the time when he had to convince the board as to why was he naming the film Love Guru. He said that the entire matter was discussed repeatedly for almost a month and then they were finally called for a screening of the film, where they had to justify the use of the title. Prashanth still strongly feels that the film wouldn’t have sounded good with a Kannada title.

Director Ramesh, of the film Police Quarters was also asked if he had faced similar kind of problems, but he denied and said that, as the story of his film revolved around the police quarters it wasn’t possible for him to keep any other title. He also said that some members of the film chamber had called him up asking him to change it, but he in return asked them to find a suitable title for the film and get back to him and that’s when they realized how difficult it was to find a Kannada title for his film which had such a typical story of the police quarters.

That’s how nowadays many movies such as Mr. Painter, IPC Section 300, Parole, Just Maat Maathalli, and Sanju Weds Geetha, has been given the green signal.
