LONDON - Susan Boyle’s brother Gerry has denied that he was using his sister’s fame to boost his recently launched record label.

The 55-year-old entrepreneur said plans for his own talent show had already been charted out before his sister turned into an overnight celebrity on Britain’s Got Talent.

“People might say I am using Susan’s success for my own benefit, but this has been built over many years,” The Sun quoted Gerry as saying.

“I would be telling fibs if I said her fame had done any harm. I have gained contacts through my dealings with Simon Cowell.

“The launch was originally planned for March but when the whole Susan thing happened I put it off. I spent a lot of time being interviewed on telly as her brother,” he added.

Gerry also said: “We offer the chance for artists to be discovered just as Susan has been, but I will not be taking the Simon Cowell role. My involvement will be from the business side.” (ANI)
