Sheryl Crow to sing All-Star national anthem
NEW YORK — Pop star Sheryl Crow will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” before Tuesday night’s All-Star game in St. Louis.
The nine-time Grammy winner is to perform at an All-Star charity concert this weekend with Elvis Costello, with Major League Baseball donating $1 million to Stand Up To Cancer.
Country star Sara Evans, like Crow a Missouri native, is to sing “God Bless America” during the seventh-inning stretch, the commissioner’s office said Thursday.
President Barack Obama is scheduled to throw out the ceremonial first pitch.
“American Idol” winner David Cook will perform two songs before the Home Run Derby on Monday. Nikko Smith, a 2005 “American Idol” finalist and son of Cardinals Hall of Famer Ozzie Smith, will sing the national anthem.
R&B’s Ginuwine will perform the anthem before Sunday’s Futures game.
