Incomprehensible “Rudd Speak” leaves German translators flummoxed in Berlin!

SYDNEY - Malcolm Turnbull, leader of the opposition in the Australian Parliament, has said that Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd’s “Rudd Speak” with calls for “detailed programmatic specificity” has left not German translators, but Aussies as well.
Turnbull criticised Rudd’s statement made while on the Berlin tour, where Rudd said: “it was unlikely any progress would emerge from the Major Economies Forum (MEF) “by way of detailed programmatic specificity.”
Rudd said this while addressing the German press and Chancellor Angela Merkel, News.com.au reports.
Turnbull admitted that he had no idea what programmatic specificity means, saying that: “As I understand it, I heard part of his speech was not only incomprehensible in English, but so incomprehensible the German translators were unable to translate.”
The Opposition Leader urged that it would be better to use clear, plain English.
“Rudd has a way with words. I just hope he knows what he’s saying because a lot of what he says is incomprehensible to most people when he gets into that jargon,” Turnbull said.
“I think clarity and plain English would be a good remedy for Mr Rudd’s linguistic problems,” he added. (ANI)
