AMC announces ‘Rubicon,’ a new dramatic series

NEW YORK — AMC is saying “yes” to a third original dramatic series.

“Rubicon” is a political thriller that AMC hopes will be as well received as its dramas “Mad Men” and “Breaking Bad.”

The series focuses on an analyst at a New York-based think tank who uncovers a clue to an unfolding global conspiracy. The cast includes James Badge Dale, Miranda Richardson and Lili Taylor.

AMC says the 12-episode series will air next year.

The cable network’s much-acclaimed “Mad Men,” set in the 1960s advertising world, returns for its third season Aug. 16.

AMC is a division of Rainbow Media’s Entertainment Services.
