Rangers’ Hamilton activated from DL

ARLINGTON, Texas — Texas Rangers center fielder Josh Hamilton has been activated from the disabled list.

Hamilton was back Tuesday night for the opener of a six-game homestand against AL West foes Seattle and the Los Angeles Angels. Infielder Joaquin Arias was sent back to Triple-A Oklahoma.

Hamilton had been on the 15-day disabled list because of strained left ribcage muscle. The All-Star last played April 26, five days after he got hurt running into the outfield wall in Toronto.

Hamilton was 2 for 5 with three walks playing two games in a rehabilitation assignment for Triple-A Oklahoma.
